About Us
Who We Are
The Hawai‘i Association for Healthcare Risk Management (HAHRM) is an affiliated chapter of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM), a Professional Membership Group (PMG) of the American Hospital Association. We are proud to begin our journey in serving Hawai‘i's healthcare risk management community with dedication and purpose.
Our diverse membership reflects the multidisciplinary nature of healthcare risk management and includes professionals from a wide range of settings—acute care, ambulatory care, long-term care, and managed care. Members include risk managers, patient safety personnel, defense attorneys, insurance and claims professionals, consultants, quality management experts, privacy officers, equipment and supply vendors, and health information specialists.
Together, we are committed to advancing the field of healthcare risk management across the state by fostering professional growth, collaboration, and the highest standards of practice.
Educational Opportunities
HAHRM offers a variety of educational opportunities, including monthly webinars and an annual conference. Our programs are thoughtfully designed to inspire new ideas and proactive approaches, support professional growth, and keep members up to date on critical topics such as legislative updates, clinical best practices, loss control strategies, litigation and claims management, risk financing, and risk prevention techniques.
We are committed to providing relevant, timely, and practical education that empowers our members to excel in their roles within the healthcare risk management community.
Networking
We actively encourage and promote networking among our members by dedicating time during meetings for meaningful connections. Additionally, we invite members to get involved by serving on HAHRM’s newly developed committees and ad hoc task forces.
Our committees will be forming soon, and we warmly encourage you to join and contribute your expertise. To get involved, please reach out to any current HAHRM Board member.
